UNIVERSITY

The chair “Production Engineering of E-Mobility Components” (PEM) of RWTH Aachen University was founded in 2014 by StreetScooter co-inventor Professor Achim Kampker. The PEM chair consists of several research groups focused on battery system and component development, production and recycling; fuel cells; electric powertrain production; and full vehicle concepts. ​

PEM is active in teaching, engaged in domestic and internationally funded research projects and collaborating with renowned industrial partners. The focus is on sustainability and cost reduction – with the goal of a seamless “innovation chain” from basic research to large-scale production in the immediate vicinity.
